The Shoebox Mystery

FULL-LENGTH.

THE SHOEBOX MYSTERY.

It is Christmas time at Baxters Textiles and the party is about to start when Kenny, the junior dogsbody, discovers £15,000 in a shoebox in the sample cupboard. The investigation to trace the source of the money and, when it goes missing, its whereabouts reveals financial and sexual intrigue, jealousy and hatred in a company that, despite outward appearances, is crumbling to pieces. Ultimately the trail seems to land at the door of the one person, who thought himself beyond suspicion, the long-serving Charles Lomas, Accountant to the company. But was he the culprit or the victim?

When this play was premiered by RATAE CO-OPERATIVE PLAYERS in 2007, the Leicester Mercury wrote : “ With an interesting storyline, a touch of comedy and a relatively small cast, I feel sure that it won’t be long before “The Shoebox Mystery” will be revealed again”.
